This has to be the first ever advert on YouTube which demanded my attention from the start! I am so relieved to not have hastily hit the 'skip' button! It is an advert that oozes in sophistication and class.
What made me fall in love with a commercial promoting a luxury watch company? Well it was first the music (a classic by Shirley Bassey), but then I saw the adorable baby with the bluest eyes and the cutest smile!
Accompanied by the 'Reinvent Yourself' tagline, the advert depicts Diane Kruger rediscovering herself many times during her transition from childhood into a woman. Diane reinventing herself many times in her life, from being a professional ballerina to a high-end fashion model and now a Hollywood actress, is beautifully picturized. She has done so with determination, poise and sophistication. Diane Kruger is beautiful. She is a strong brand ambassador.
The advert soon turned into a mini-movie consisting of mystery and romance with beautiful shot of Paris. But the best part was towards the end when they pose the question...
"How often in a lifetime can we reinvent ourselves?"
and answered with....
"Infinitely" (Wow, that felt empowering!)
Just then, the advert focuses completely on the watch showing a close up of the shimmering, diamond incrusted watch that rotates in perfect sync with the ending of the song. Truly spectacular!
