Decor: Cushions!

Hey!

I really do think a room is unfinished if it is without an arrangement of gorgeous cushions. The cushions do not have to all be identical, so you can be more creative when choosing them. Mix and match your cushions by choosing cushions of various sizes, patterns, colours and fabrics to stand out, making the room more visually appealing.

Placing a few cushions together on your bed, sofa or armchair really can the room look striking and well put together. In the following pictures, the cushions really do grab attention. In fact, it is the first thing I noticed. They play a huge role in creating the overall look, not convinced? Picture each without the cushions and the room would look bare, so it really does provide a finishing touch.

Hope you enjoyed admiring these gorgeous cushions (and rooms) as much as I did! Don't these cushions heavily compliment the look and feel of each room? Notice how each set of cushions consisted of matching, contrasting or clashing colours/patterns, but overall, they went well with the room's colour scheme.

Happy Monday! (yes... Monday!)

Hey!

Happy Monday! Well it is a new week, a new opportunity to get things right and work harder. Besides, we have one week left before April. Like me, why not try to squeeze in one (or as many) accomplishments which you set out to do this month but have not ticked off your list yet.

Did you not write down your goals for March? No problem! Just write the goals you know can be achieved this week, the rest you can add to your April's list. Do that and you would have got a new (good) habit going! I am a firm believer in writing my goals down. The process itself of writing it down helps clear my mind and makes what I want a lot more certain. If your goals are vague, how can you get excited by them?  While I write, it helps me visualise my goals and anticipate being that person I have envisioned, the person I want to be. Give it a go, write your goals down in a notebook or diary and see how confident you will feel about them after.

Of course, action needs to follow as writing down your goals only provides fresh impetus to the challenge. Your consequent actions (and strategic thinking) is what determines whether you achieve your goals. Do not be put off, hard work is essential, so do it anyway knowing that what you get in return is far greater than your efforts. Do it knowing that the person you want to be is who you will eventually become, for it is the hard work that transforms you.

Saree: East is East

Hey!

In Part 2,  we look at how the elegant Saree is worn by some of the popular Indian Stars and Models of today. The Sarees shown in these pictures tend to be more elaborate and heavy with embroidery. I also noticed how stars from the West did not wear much accessories, if any at all, which is okay as 'less is more' and the Sarees themselves make a bold statement. Well, dressed up or down, these Sarees are just exquisite. Have you ever worn a Saree? 

If not and you would like to, then why not take the plunge? I am most certain there is a Saree out there to suit every style and taste. With more and more Saree shops popping up online, I am sure you will find one that you will love! As most come with additional fabric for the blouse (unless the blouse is ready-made), you could have your blouse tailor made to a perfect fit and custom made to your chosen design. Having trouble putting a Saree on? Not to worry, you will find countless videos on YouTube explaining the technique used to put on a Saree, in simple steps. 

Lastly, I am sure you will look beautiful wearing one! Remember, the Saree is so versatile, it can wear it to any occasion. The one thing I love about them, they can make every woman look elegant and feminine, regardless of her body shape or ethnicity.

His & Her Style

Hey!

Im sure most of you agree, Olivia Palermo and her equally gorgeous fiancé (German model Johannes Huebl) both have superb fashion sense. I simply love the way they always seem to coordinate their outfits to compliment each others look.

It is always wonderful to see pictures of them together whilst out and about or at official events, as their style is always so well put together. In fact, I say it's immaculate! I don't think these two could ever put a foot wrong when it comes to being fashionably attired. Olivia is ever so glamorous and has such a unique sense of style. Likewise, her beau is always pictured looking dapper, even when casually dressed. 

They always seem to look effortlessly classy, bearing in mind, those celebrities who are supposedly fashion icons could not pull it off without looking tacky!

Here are some picture perfect stills of the flawless couple. One could easily mistake these pictures for professionally taken ones to feature in Vogue's editorial spreads.

Saree: East Meets West

Hey! 

Hope everyone's weekend was great and it has left them reinvigorated and looking forward to making the week ahead a highly productive one!

Being of Indian origin, I wanted declare my love for Sarees in this post. For those who do not know what a Saree is, it is a traditional attire mainly worn by women in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bengal and Bangladesh. Though there are various styles in which a Saree can be worn, the idea is to wrap the very long fabric skilfully around body. It is very similar to a Greek Toga. In fact, some historians believe the Saree originated from the Toga worn thousands of years ago! How amazing is that! 

Having spent 6 weeks in India last August (I spent time volunteering at a village school and sightseeing in a few cities and isolated beauty spots), I did manage to spend my final week shopping. I ended up buying a great number of Sarees which was an exhausting task, I must say. That did not stop me though,as I am Saree OBSESSED! 

I love how various celebrities and supermodels from the west have embraced this tradition by wearing the Saree with respect and don't they look striking!

Next, I would love to see Nicole Kidman in one, as she is so tall and has strawberry blonde hair, it would look breathtaking on her. Lastly, I would love to see Kim Kardashian in a Saree, as she has a curvy figure and a cascade of long black hair flowing down would accentuate the exoticism of the attire.

Inspiration: Lauren Conrad

Hey!

Former star of ''The Hills' and fashion designer, Lauren Conrad is the focus of today's post. Like many others, I hugely admire Lauren for her ultra warm and down-to-earth personality. In fact, I believe that is the key reason why she is so well liked by those who know of her, not just because she is exceptionally pretty. Simply put, she is not a narcissist, making her far more appealing! Lauren is a role model to all young girls. She is intelligent, ambitious, career minded, hard working and exudes self worth and self respect. The way she dresses demonstrates just that. She knows she does not have to dress provocatively to be attractive, yet still looks ravishing by opting to always remain classy. The same can be said for LC's co-star Whitney Port, also a fashion designer with an incredible sense of style. 

So, to honour this lovely young lady, I have put forward some of her best looks! 

I hope to see more of Miss Conrad on soon, as watching her on TV is always a delight!
